Health Information Systems (HIS) Training Specialist
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Health Information Systems (HIS) Training Specialist position is part of LRMC's drive to improve the set up and implementation of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Electronic Dental Record (EDR) and the quality of the EHR/EDR Training for all Health Center staff.
This position will enhance the employees' EHR/EDR skills, performance, productivity, and quality of work.
This position will assist with the workflow analysis of the EHR/EDR, and comprehensive, consistent training programs to all staff, (all clinical, Behavioral Health, dental, and any related clinical or Practice Management staff) including, but not limited to, new hire training, system updates, refresher training for existing employees to include, implementing a schedule for annual and periodic training for the EHR/EDR users.
The Health Information Systems (HIS) Training Specialist (qualified candidate) shall have a working knowledge of a variety of complex nursing and other clinical tasks to enhance all areas of the EHR.
The Health Information Systems (HIS) Training Specialist will work closely with the Practice Management Team and IT team to ensure the appropriate workflows are in place for all departments who utilize the EHR/EDR.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Identify and assess future and current EHR/EDR training needs through job analysis of the medical team, front office, and billing team and consultation with the IT Director, Director of Nursing, CMO, CDO, Revenue Cycle Manager, COO, and Front Office Manager that address the needs and expectations.
Develop comprehensive and consistent EHR/EDR training and evaluation process for all medical, dental, behavioral health, front office, and billing staff to ensure continuous improvement and evolving training programs and conduct effective induction and orientation sessions.
Execution of an enhanced EHR/EDR training program to include checklists to be updated on an ongoing basis to reflect any process or procedural changes, system, or LRMC policy changes.
Continuous evaluation of the effectiveness of the training programs.
Support Continuous Improvement of the training programs.
Serve as primary point of contact for all issues and requests related to EHR/EDR systems.
Respond to end-user requests for issue resolution.
Open and monitor progress of support tickets with EHR/EDR support staff.
Promote EHR/EDR system and ensure continual improvement in performance in day-to-day operations for the users.
Facilitation of training classes.
Design and prepare educational aids and materials.
Work with supervisory staff to identify power users and provide "train the trainer" sessions to ensure internal experts.
Conduct needs assessments and identifies skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed.
Participation in new employee orientation with Human Resources.
Work closely with IT team to ensure all computers are set up the same way for the various disciplines.
Work closely with other departments in support of quality improvement areas or other areas of such as regulatory and/or grant related reporting/requirements, including, but not limited to HRSA UDS and PCMH workflows/reporting.
Work closely with Data Analyst to ensure the accuracy of data elements needed for reporting.
Develop templates, forms, lists for the providers and in the consistent format for all.
Consistent training on how to build templates, lists, and forms for EHR for both clinical and PM side.
Assists with system analysis, testing, and documentation on new patches and versions prior to implementation.

Advanced organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments and can work with various learning types.
Ability to organize and prioritize workload, manage multiple tasks at once with minimal supervision and without sacrificing attention to detail.
Excellent technical diagnostic and analytical skills and a consultative and collaborative approach to problem solving.
Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively.
Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point.
Clinical experience in a medical setting with preference to hands on nursing experience.
Experience working with medical providers and other professional level staff.
Must be Fully Vaccinated Against COVID-19.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Minimum of 5 years' experience directly related to working with EHR's and RN, LPN, or Health Educator with completed degree(s) / diploma(s) from an accredited institution preferred or Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience with eCW and/or Dentrix preferred.
