The George is a 56-room upscale, boutique hotel located at 615 Front Street Georgetown, SC (corner of Front & Queen Streets) that began development in February 2022 with an anticipated opening in the second half of 2023.
The property will offer visitors and locals an unparalleled waterfront dining and lodging experience at an unsurpassed location within the charming historic, colonial seaport town of Georgetown, South Carolina.
In addition to fifty-six rooms and suites, the property will offer a full-service restaurant and bar on the Front Street side of the property, and will feature waterfront event space, a waterfront bar and activity lawn for lounging, games, and events.
The George will have direct marina access affording boaters and opportunity to enjoy the hotels’ amenities and guests an opportunity to access charter vessels for fishing, eco-excursions, and sailing in the Winyah Bay and surrounding areas.
THE ROLE The George is seeking a motivated, and energetic individual to lead the Maintenance Department and be the onsite leader of building, equipment, and grounds condition of the hotel.
This individual will focus on guest and associate satisfaction, expense control, and product quality in contribution to the overall goals of the hotel.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the job include, but are not limited to: Perform maintenance and repairs, and preventative maintenance, to all areas of the hotel.
Supervise and provide leadership to maintenance workers to service hallways, public areas, and rooms as needed.
Completes all maintenance requests and tasks as assigned for the day.
Visually inspect public areas and overall resort for cleanliness, appearance, and safety.
Maintain a clean and organized maintenance shop and for the security of the hotel inventory and assets such as tools, supplies, furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
Respond quickly and efficiently to all guest requests; Practice chemical safety rules and follows procedures for needles and other hazardous materials.
Report all suspicious persons, activities, or hazardous conditions to the General Manager.
Follow all Lost and Found protocols.
Maintain high standards of guest relations when in contact with the guest.
Ability to order supplies, to receive instructions for the day and/or to read equipment manuals including safety information Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the job include, but are not limited to: Perform maintenance and repairs, and preventative maintenance, to all areas of the hotel.

Organization, multitasking and project skills and knowledge of cleanliness standards.
Must have mobility to walk through the front and back of the hotel, up and down stairs.
Fluency in both English and Spanish highly desirable.
Education/Formal Training and Experience Advanced vocational training plus a year of experience in general building maintenance or construction, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Specialized knowledge of basic plumbing, carpentry, electricity, and equipment mechanics is preferred.
Physical Requirements: Ability to work an average of 35-40 hours a week Ability to stand and walk 90% of the time Occasional stooping, kneeling or crawling Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying up to 40 lbs Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, ramps Constant receiving detailed information through oral and written communication Constant talking, expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word
