We have a small hobby farm and had a herd of goats.
Our herd patriarch passed away from old age a few months ago, and now we are down to just one sheep and one goat.
They no longer seem content and I think they would benefit from being in a larger herd.
The goat is a four year old Boer goat.
He is castrated.
The sheep is 3.
He is not castrated as the vet advised against it at his age, saying it would pose more risk than reward.
We are not sure of his breed because we rescued him from a kill lot with no background info.
He is one of the breeds that sheds their wool every spring instead of having to be sheared.
Both of them do have horns.
I’m not in a rush to rehome them, and it’s honestly not something I really want to do as they are both sweet boys.
However, I feel it may be in their best interest as I think just two is not enough and they would love to have more friends.
They must go together and to a pet-only home.
