No Job Details ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF LIFELONG LEARNING The Office of Continuing Studies at Coastal Carolina, part of the College of Graduate and Continuing Studies, aims to serve the educational needs of the Grand Strand Community by increasing Coastal Carolina’s ties with the wider community outside of our campus in Conway, South Carolina.
One of our main programs is the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Coastal Carolina University (OLLI@Coastal).
Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Academic Outreach and Continuing Education, the Associate Director of Lifelong Learning will direct programming for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Coastal Carolina University (OLLI@Coastal).
This programming—including but not limited to courses, clubs, and educational excursions—is specifically designed to meet the intellectual and social needs of older adults in the community.
The Associate Director will oversee the programming and day-to-day operations of OLLI and seek innovative ways to serve our growing membership of lifelong learners who are 50 or better.
Duties include, but are not limited to: · Manages day-to-day operations of OLLI, including but not limited to: communication with stakeholders, processing of financial transactions, oversight of program facilities and coordination of policy, programming and promotional/marketing efforts, supervision of staff, oversight of the course management and enrollment system, and the recruitment and retainment of instructors.
· Manages enrollment and develops strategies for recruitment and retention with the goal of maintaining 1,000 members.
Develops dynamic lifelong learning programming (including but not limited to courses, clubs, and excursions) based on assessment of community needs, demand, and university mission.
· Leads assessment of effectiveness of lifelong learning programming, including coordination of data collection efforts (e.
g.
, course evaluations, surveys, focus groups) required for internal use and also external reporting to the National Resource Center and the Osher Foundation.
In conjunction with Assistant Dean of Academic Outreach and Continuing Education, prepares annual reports for OLLI and other lifelong learning initiatives.
· Stays connected to the National Resource Center and serves as primary institutional liaison.
Attends Osher national conference and other regional lifelong learning conferences.
Stays connected to the work of other Osher Lifelong Learning Institutes and other lifelong learning networks to stay abreast of best practices in the lifelong learning space.
· Directs efforts to engage Coastal faculty and staff in OLLI programming.
Seeks out innovative and creative ways to integrate OLLI more into the program of the College of Graduate and Continuing Studies and the wider university community.
Works to integrate OLLI affectively into the entire Continuing Studies portfolio to maximize synergistic opportunities across unites and initiatives.
Strives to increase opportunities for intergenerational learning.
Requirements: A bachelor’s degree and experience with enrollment management, higher education, or lifelong learning is required.
A master’s degree and relevant program experience in higher education or lifelong learning is preferred.
Experience with developing, directing and evaluating programs in higher education or lifelong learning.
Experience in marketing, customer service, and database management a plus.

Required Qualifications A bachelor’s degree and experience in enrollment management, higher education, or lifelong learning.
