Job Title: After School Child Care Worker
Supervisor: Reports to After School Child Care Site Supervisor
Terms of Employment: 180 Days
Job Summary
Provide continuous supervision and interaction with the children and to plan and participate in activities for small groups on a daily basis.
Hours
As designated by the school administration
Essential Duties
Arrive promptly and remain for the specified time.
Supervise children constantly, never leaving them unattended.
Assist children when necessary with hygiene needs.
Assist children with assignments and activities.
Assist the site supervisor with providing all daily services and reports.
Coordinate planned activities as determined by the site supervisor.
Provide assistance in distributing snacks, supplies, etc.
Refer serious discipline problems to the site supervisor.
Attend all staff meetings and training sessions related to an afterschool program.
Other Duties
Performs any other related duties as assigned by the site supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required)
The candidate must possess a high school diploma.
The following are indicative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position:
High School Diploma
Possess good oral and written communication skills
Ability to build positive relationships with students and parents of students in the program
Possess knowledge of the physical, mental, and emotional development of young children
Certification in Red Cross first aid and CPR/AED
Have a positive attitude toward working with young children
Physical Requirements
The position will require numerous physical demands while working with children.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will have to stand, walk, bend, run, stoop, lift, etc.
The following are some of the physical demands of the job.
Physically capable of lifting 40 lbs
Sufficiently mobile to ensure the safety of students and to participate in activities
Able to be active for an extended period of time
Able to hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone
